USA Diaries: Snowflakes, Skylines, Casinos & Costco. A Trip of Firsts!

Travel isn’t just about ticking places off a map. It’s about first-time moments. It’s about laughter, surprise, and new experiences. And that’s exactly what our USA trip, booked through Route Your Travel, turned out to be – a collection of “firsts” I’ll never forget! Staying with my uncle’s family made it feel like home away from home, and Route Your Travel took care of every little detail, making the entire journey smooth and stress-free.

Lake Tahoe – My First Snowfall Experience ❄🏔

The trip started with something I had always dreamt of – experiencing snow for the first time! We drove up to Lake Tahoe, and as we got closer, the landscape began to change. From dry roads and tall trees to snow-dusted pines and white-covered hills—it felt like stepping into a movie set.

Standing outside, letting snowflakes fall on my face, making snowballs, and watching kids sled down small slopes was pure joy. I even attempted a mini snow fight like kids! 😂 Lake Tahoe wasn’t just about snow though. The crystal-clear lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains was absolutely picture-perfect. The views were so surreal, I kept wondering if I was really there or just inside a postcard.

Las Vegas – The City That Never Sleeps 🎰🌃

From peaceful snowfields to the neon-lit madness of Las Vegas, the contrast couldn’t have been more fun. Vegas was my first real experience of a city that’s buzzing 24x7. We stayed near the famous Las Vegas Strip, and just walking down the strip felt like an adventure. The dancing fountains at The Bellagio, the miniature Eiffel Tower at Paris Hotel, the Venetian canals inside The Venetian, and the glitzy casinos everywhere – it was all larger than life. Though we aren’t big gamblers, we did try our luck on a few slot machines… just for the experience. The nightlife, the energy, and even the people-watching on the streets was entertainment in itself. And let’s not forget the food! From street-style eats to a grand buffet, Vegas made sure we never stayed hungry (or bored).

San Francisco – Iconic Views and City Vibes 🌉🌁

Next stop was the charming city of San Francisco, and I instantly fell in love with its unique vibe. Driving across the Golden Gate Bridge, with its iconic red towers disappearing into the mist, was a bucket-list moment. We took hundreds of photos here—some classic tourist poses, some just candid laughs. We also visited Lombard Street, known as the crookedest street in the world, and took a leisurely walk at Fisherman’s Wharf, where street performers entertained crowds and the smell of fresh seafood filled the air. Another highlight? Taking the famous San Francisco cable car ride! Hanging on the side, as the tram climbed steep streets with views of the bay, was like being in a classic American movie. And for a bit of history, we also did a quick visit to Alcatraz Island—getting to see the famous former prison and learning about its interesting stories.

Bonus First: The Costco Experience 🛒😄

Okay, I know this might sound funny to some, but as someone who had heard so much about it, going to Costco was a dream come true! From giant packs of snacks to oversized household items and even tasting all those little food samples—Costco was like a playground for shoppers. I walked around like wide-eyed kids. We loaded up on chocolates, clothes, and things we didn’t even know we needed! 😅
Here’s to more travel, more firsts, and more unforgettable memories! ❤🌍

Overall: A Trip Full of Memories ❤✈

Looking back, this trip was special for so many reasons are First time seeing snow , First time exploring Las Vegas nightlife , First time visiting iconic San Francisco , First time doing a full American shopping run at Costco And honestly, none of this would have gone so smoothly without Route Your Travel. From helping us with our visa process, to perfectly planning the itinerary around staying with my uncle’s family, and ensuring we got to experience all the highlights, they truly made this dream trip possible.
